CNY Day 5 & 6

Jerald suddenly run a high fever of 39.7 degree on friday morning... I can't take leave as i need to rush Court docs for my bosses. As usual, we send him over to my parents house before leaving for work. My heart was so heavy & painful when i passed him over to my mum. Can't even take leave when my son is sick ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Told my mum to fetch him Bufen as & when required. I called my mum a few times & was told his fever went up & down... Lucky Daddy Jen help to fetch Jerald home as i worked late till 11pm then knock off. Imagine I still need to return to work the next day which is a Saturday haiz...

Whole night didn't sleep well as i kept waking up to check on Jerald's temp. His fever is really like a roller coaster up & down... Wake up early morning & we brought him to see PD at TMC. Dr Keoy was surprised to see us again after the last visit on 20/1/09. He decided to send Jerald for a blood test just to make sure he didn't catch dengue fever & also to find out the cause of his high fever. Brought him to the lab where the nurse poke his finger & draw some blood. My brave boy didn't cry at all & even smile & wave bye after the test.

He dun look sick at all when his fever subsided but once fever comes back his face will be like this below... Daddy Jen did sent me sms on & off saying Jerald is feeling very hot & uncomfy..

His blood test was out after an hr & went back to see PD again. Dr Keoy say Jerald catch a "Bacteria infection" which is due to airborne. He was given another type of antibotics which need to take for 5days. Lucky nothing serious... Quickly give Jerald a hug & passed him to Daddy Jen while i rushed of to work on a Saturday. Imagine my colleague even sms me to say need to finish everything by today if not need to return office on a Sunday.

Reached office at 12.30pm & start doing all the photocopying, binding etc... This is what me & my colleague have done.




Everything pack nicely & store inside boxes to be send to the High Court next Monday.
Managed to get it done by 6.30pm then zoom home to take over from Daddy jen.

Chinese New Year - Day 1

It's a busy day today... Wake up at 7am to prepare things while Daddy Jen & Jerald are still in their la la land.. Manage to set off to my parents house at 9.15am b4 heading to my Aunt's place, Godfather's house, Big Auntie's house etc...

I always look forward to 1st day of CNY as i get to eat my favourite mee sua. My dad will order these special mee sua from a shop every year & it's cook dry instead of those soupy kind. It's a tradtional meal which all my family members need to eat b4 we set off for relatives house. My dad's dialect is Hokkien "Heng Hwa" Xin Hwa so this dish is called "Heng Hwa" mee sua.

The pic may not look nice to u cos i was on vegetarian today so not much variety i can put on the mee sua. The ingredients includes beancurd, black fungus, green vegetables, fried egg, meat, mushroom, peanuts on top many more...


The weather is pretty hot today so just wear the tang zhuang top to show my parents b4 changing him to a polo tee.

Reunion dinner

My throat got worse this morning so decided to see a GP b4 it get worse. I hate sore throat as i can go to the extent to no voice if it's really infected. GP prescribed some antibiotics & coughing syrup hopefully will get better by tomorrow.

We went for early reunion dinner at my parents house at 6pm. We were a bit late cos Daddy Jen & Jerald were having their sweet nap.

24.01.09 Ikea

Jerald get well liao so we brought him to Ikea at Alexandra for breakfast with Kiok Teck & family. So happy tat they brought Jerald a set of Tang Zhuang for CNY. I've been persuading Daddy Jen ever since Jerald was born but he keep saying it looks so traditional & "ugly", weather so cold lah blar blar... He still prefer i dress his boy with t-shirt & jeans or shorts. But today he agree & say let him wear on the 1s day of CNY. Though it's a bit too big for jerald but i'll only let him wear to my parents house after tat may change him to a set of new clohings we got it.

My turn to be down... though woke up with stuffy nose & very dry throat i thought it's ok so drink plenty of water but didn't help much & even developed a fever of 38.3 degree all of a sudden. Told Daddy Jen tat i feel so weak & cold. Quickly pop 2 panadol & went for a short nap b4 rushing off to MIL's house for reunion dinner. We were late for dinner as part maid was here & both me & Jerald nap till 8plus then wake up.
Reached home about 10plus & feed jerald his medicine b4 we change & put him to his bed. Heard a few sound of dry cough from him when i was bathing. As expected, best friend cough visit him since flu pal is still in his body. Lucky Daddy Jen ask his pd to prescribe some cough syrup to standby during last visit.

Hope all bugs... Virus go away... shooooooooooooo

CNY Goodies

Both my mum & my MIL are good cook. But my MIl can even make very nice goodies for CNY especially her pineapple tart. She also know how to make love letters, "kok zai", Almond & peanut cookies, prawn roll etc..

19.01.09 Eye infection & High fever

My mum suddenly called my hp telling me Jerald's right eye is swollen & red. I really got a shock as he's still ok in the morning when we send him over to my parents b4 we left for work. So i ask my mum to monitor & ask her to call me if it get worse. Unexpected he can't get to sleep though only has a power nap merely 15min. My mum say his eye got worse & he can't even open his eye at all. As most clinics are closed since it's about 3pm, my dad managed bring him to a GP at Holland Rd. I tried to call the doc & she said jerald has eye infection due to excess rubbing of his eye either after touching something dirty. Doc prescribed eye drop & say will take few days to clear. Phew... glad to hear it's nothing serious.


His right eye was so swollen till he can't open it when he wake up.

Tuesday morning i decided to take half day leave to bring him to see pd as his eye still very swollen. Jerald weighs 11.7kg & 79cm. PD mention he has sore eyes so prescribed him some antibiotic & continue to give eye drop. He said will clear in 2-3days. At night things fot worse, when i was changing diaper for jerald after his last feed. I noticed his body is very warm & his head is burning hot. I wonder wat's wrong as he's still ok earlier & even play with us when we fetch him home.

Daddy Jen measured his temp & notice he's running a fever of 39.5 degree. OMG, wat happen to my boy??? Why suddenly fever??? I'm in a lost lucky Daddy Jen ask me o cool down & we try to feed him some Bufen hopefully he'll be ok tomorrow morning. I even tell myself i had rather tat i'm the one sick than my boy. It's really heartpain to see him like tat. Whole night didn't sleep at all cos kept waking up to check jerald's temp. Early morning his fever gone down a bit 38.7 degree, we decided to bring him back to see pd again as CNY is drawing near... This time pd is also shock to see us but he mentioned jerald's eye is so much better. He said jerald has caught a flu bug but told him everone well at home. He mentioned there are many virus around nowadays so be careful. He told us to moniter him for the next 2-3days as his fever will go up & down like roller coaster. We pray hard hope Jerald get well soon... Mummy & Daddy loves you.

Chinatown

Brought Jerald to Chinatown to shop for CNY goodies & meet up with Lillian, Danny & her boy Travis. Both our boys enjoyed the trip but poor Daddy Jen & Mummy Lillian as both of them carry them all the way when we browse around. We went there early morning to aviod the crowd but the sun was very bright & it was really warm. Only manage to take some pics when we went to Chinatown McDonald for a drink plus make milk for our boys.

We brought Jerald for hair cut at Vivo early morning at 10am. Got a shock when our queue no is no 8 though it just open for business but a lot of ppl reach much more earlier than us.

Happy Wedding Anniversary

Time flies... We've been married for 3years. Hoping Daddy Jen will give me a surprise by buying me my favourite flowers but nothing... He's not a romantic man with little words to say as he's quite a quiet man not like me can talk non stop haha... Thought but lucky Daddy Jen called his mum to say we are not going for dinner tonight as every tuesday & thursday we will bring jerald over to eat dinner and also let her see her grandson.

Daddy Jen brought me to eat seafood at No Signboard at Esplanade. We had a 6 course dinner at $199+++ for 2 person. This's the most expensive meal i've taken so far... imagine i can buy many many things for jerald with this sum of money. This will be our first & last time stepping into the restaurant as it's not worth the price also.

All along we called Jerald "Bao bei" & whenever we asked him...

Mummy: Who am I?

I was feeling pretty lousy since last night as i'm starting work today after a month of rest doing nothing. This morning Jerald brighten up my day & I'm so happy & tears nearly rolled down... He greeted us while we are inside the lift & say he's our bao bei. Both me & Daddy Jen were shocked. My boy has really grown up and learned many many things day by day.

Till now he's coming to 16months soon.

The things tat he knows...
- He knows how to shake & nod his head
- his hand wave "Hi" when told to do so.
- Say & point Shhh.. when he want people to keep quiet.
- Can say gor gor, jie jie, po po, gong gong, nai nai, mama, papa, daddy, mummy, ah gu (my bro), ah kim (my SIL) but hor he only knows how to say gu & kim , bao bei, bird, wet, car, cat, dog, take, eat, bear, Pooh & Friends : eyore the clearest of all, other than tat tigger=ger, piglet=let, pooh=pooh bear.
- Clap his hands, point eyes, nose, mouth & pull our ears.
- blow "kiss goodbye"
- Go to the shoe rack to take his shoe when we say gai gai..
- sayang all plush toys we gave him etc...

Goodbye Year 2008 & Welcome Year 2009

We managed to reach home early since my parents house are nearby.. We tried to play with Jerald & managed to say "HAPPY NEW YEAR" to him at 12am sharp while we stand at our kitchen window watching the nice "Fireworks" from Marina Bay. Too bad the block opposite blocked us if not we can see a clearer view of the fireworks at Vivo City too. After tat, quickly bring Jerald to his bed while i continue to update blog on my bed hee..

A lot of up & down this year especially after my major op recently. I treasure my life more as i tell my hb tat i won't die so soon as i still wan to attend Jerald's wedding in future "hopefully" I realise i'm really blessed to have such a caring & nice hubby, an adorable son which makes our family a complete one since your arrival.

Daddy Jen,
Thank you for being there for me thru the difficult times. Also enduring with me for being so blunt whenever i talk. I promise i'll be a better wife & a mother to you & Jerald. I'll try to learn how to cook more often so tat we won't need to go out & spend $ on unnecessary food & petrol.

You really lights up our family since your arrival. There's always never ending laughter with you around no matter how notti you are but your smile melts our hearts & you are spared from scolding. Mummy & daddy are so proud of you...
